Self care journal ideas are important if you are going to successfully keep a self care journal and in my opinion this is one of the best ways to not only track your self care activities but to help you prioritize self care. Keeping a self care journal can also be a method of self care in and of itself and it can help you to stress less.

Here are some great self care journal ideas for you to consider:

  1. Gratitude journaling: Write down three things you’re grateful for each day. I’ve found this has had a big impact on me.
  2. Mood tracking: Document your emotions and what might be causing them each day.
  3. Positive affirmations: Write down positive affirmations to repeat to yourself when you need a boost.
  4. Self-reflection: Reflect on your actions and decisions each day, and write down what you learned from them.
  5. Self-care bucket list: Create a list of self-care activities you’d like to try in the future. This is another one I have and continue to maintain and look at often.
  6. Mindfulness journaling: Write about your experiences practicing mindfulness each day. I find this one works especially well when combined with meditation.
  7. Exercise log: Document your daily exercise routine and how it makes you feel. This one can be helpful if you are struggling to exercise on a regular basis. It can help remind you of how it feels to exercise and why you really must do it.
  8. Creative expression: Use your journal to draw, paint, or write creatively as a form of self-expression and stress relief.
  9. Goal-setting: Write down short-term and long-term goals for yourself, and track your progress.
  10. Affirmative action: Make a list of small, actionable steps you can take each day to care for yourself and follow through with them.
