How to Cook Brussel Sprouts

Do you eat Brussel Sprouts? I didn’t eat them for over 20 years because I had an experience eating them when I was about 9 years old when they tasted really gross and so for years I thought that I hated Brussel Sprouts. However, a few years ago I decided to try them again and was surprised at how delicious they can taste. I’ve realize that Brussel Sprouts are one of those vegetables that depend on how they are cooked to taste good. In this post I want to share some ideas on how to cook Brussel Sprouts and make them taste delicious.

My favorite recipe for cooking Brussel Sprouts is the following:

1. Saute them in a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and some water with some chicken until about 3/4 cooked. Then add in 2-3 drops of wild orange essential oil and finish cooking. You can also serve them with some red potatoes or quinoa. If you don’t have wild orange essential oil you can add in 1-2 slices of orange or a tablespoon of orange juice for the added orange flavor. If you want to try the wild orange essential oil, contact me and I can get you some.

I also really like to cook Brussel Sprouts with salmon and some lemon. You can also try cooking them with coconut oil instead of olive oil. I find that using one of the oils and adding in some orange or lemon flavor really adds to the flavor and taste. You can try using other meats as well but I’ve found that the combination with chicken tastes the best. Plain Brussel Sprouts in water are really not very good and will make you less likely to want to eat them again. You can also do a stir fry with them and add in peppers, onions, broccoli and other vegetables.
