Introduction
Autoimmune disease triggers are important to understand in order to minimize them and to help reduce your autoimmune symptoms and assist in your journey to healing your autoimmune condition. While each person is different and each autoimmune condition is different, most people who have an autoimmune disorder, have at least a few of these triggers. Some of these autoimmune disease triggers are easier to fix than others but they can all be fixed.
- Trauma- trauma of all kinds whether it’s something serious like abuse or something less serious but nonetheless traumatic such as a death of a loved one, the loss of a pet, or a job loss, trauma can trigger autoimmune symptoms in a lot of people. What can often make these even worse is that too often we try to repress these or pretend they aren’t a big deal rather than acknowledging them and working through them. In some cases therapy can be helpful and even a must.
- A lack of self worth or self love– This is a bigger issue and is a bigger problem than many people realize. When your body tissues attack themselves, one of the causes can be a lack of self worth or self love. You must love yourself in order to heal from an autoimmune condition you may be experiencing at the moment.
- Stress- Stress is at the root of a lot of health challenges and can make anything worse and especially autoimmune conditions. There are a lot of things you can do to minimize stress and we live in a world where too many of us are stressed too much.
- Toxins- toxins of all kinds can trigger or make worse autoimmune disease. This is why it’s important to detox and remove as many toxins from your life as possible. You can’t remove all toxins from your environment but you can do things like use toxin free cleaners, and skin care products. You can also do things to detox the toxins from your body in order to reduce the amount of them in your body.
- Infections like Lyme – These are at the root of a lot of autoimmune conditions. You need to work on figuring out what kinds of infections you have and then healing those in order to heal from your autoimmune condition.
- Mold- this can cause all kinds of health issues, not limited to but including autoimmune challenges. Mold can be obvious, or not so obvious as it can hide in all kinds of places. If you think you’ve tried it all, then mold may very well be the culprit.
- Negative emotions- Most illnesses including autoimmune ones, start emotionally first and then become physical. Being aware of your emotions and of the control they have on your life, is an important part of autoimmune healing.
- Digestive Issues- Autoimmune issues start in the gut and if you have digestive issues these are a big trigger and they must be addressed in order for you to heal.
- Covid– There are more and more studies coming out that show that long haul covid or even just a regular covid infection can trigger an autoimmune condition or autoimmune symptoms.
- Immune system issues– This is another big one and is one of the reasons why you can’t just cover up an autoimmune condition with a pill. You must treat your immune system in order to achieve lasting remission and healing.
If you wish to work on healing your autoimmune disease and avoiding developing more, then you must work on avoiding and fixing these common autoimmune disease triggers. Autoimmune diseases do not just come from nowhere. They develop over time and many of the causes are known and can be avoided or minimized once you know what is happening.
