Introduction
Dairy Free Gluten Free Dinner Ideas are everywhere once you know where to look. However, when you first start following a dairy free gluten free diet, it can seem overwhelming and much harder to find Dairy Free Gluten Free Dinner Ideas than it will be after you get used to following this diet. I’ve been eating this way for over 10 years now and I find it much easier now than it used to be. Here are some of my favorite Dairy Free Gluten Free Dinner Ideas.
- Stir Fry’s. You can make a vegetable stir fry or add in chicken, beef, or fish. The possibilities really are endless. Here are some of my favorite stir fry recipes. I find the best way to make sure it tastes delicious is to start with a base of either yellow or red onion, then add in 3-4 other vegetables or a frozen bag of mixed vegetables that already has a variety of vegetables included. I like to include 1-2 green vegetables and 1-2 others like mushrooms, peppers, beets, olives etc. Then you can either use a dairy free and gluten free soy sauce, or coconut animas, (Trader Joe’s has it the cheapest) or some olive oil, avocado oil or seasame oil either by itself or with some rice wine vinegar. You can also consider mixing in some herbes de provence or other similar herb mix.
- Salad- While you might think that salads need gluten or dairy to taste good, there are a lot of dairy free and gluten free options. The best way to get some kind of a crunch without gluten is with either some broken up gluten free crakers or some seeds. Seasame seeds or hemp seeds are two of my favorities. You can also use dairy free cheese in order to avoid using dairy. As long as you read the labels, there are many dairy free and gluten free salad dressings. I also like to add in some canned salmon, or tuna, hard boiled egg and canned olives along with some other vegetables. These are all naturally dairy free and gluten free.
- Vegetable soup- as long as you avoid most kinds of bouillion that contain gluten, these are naturally dairy free and gluten free. A few of my favorite vegetable soups include split pea and ham, tomato and vegetable and lentil soup. You can make any kind of soup you want by using a base of onion, carrot, celery, and vegetable or chicken broth and then adding in some beans, peas, lentils or other vegetables. The possibilities are really endless.
- Quinoa with vegetables and or any kind of meat. Just read labels on any kind of sauce you use.
- Tacos or bean burritos. As long as you use corn tortillas and read labels, and dairy free cheese you can easily make diary free and gluten free versions of these.
- Turkey burgers with lettuce wrap, tomato, avocado and hummus. You can buy ground turkey and make burgers, but I prefer to buy them premade at Trader Joe’s. Although Costco, Kroger and a few other stores also carry them.
- Eggs with vegetables- I eat these more often for breakfast, but you can also make them for dinner.
- Chicken and vegetable rice wraps. You can buy these at most grocery stores either pre-made, just read labels or you can buy the rice wraps, then cook some veggies and chicken and wrap them in the rice wraps.
- Rice and beans- yes really, these can be quite good and you can add in some dairy free cheese and or salsa and or avocados to add more flavor.
- Gluten free pasta with vegetables and or chicken, fish, or any other kind of meat. Just use some oilve oil or avocado oil, or dairy free butter to make it dairy free.
Conclusion
There are lots of Dairy Free Gluten Free Dinner Ideas, you just need to get started and experiment to see what tastes good to you and soon you will have so many ideas, you won’t know why you ever doubted your ability to come up with ideas for dinner that are diary free and gluten free and still taste delicious.
