Introduction

Creating a self care gift box can be an amazing gift for yourself or anyone else in your life. If you are looking for some helpful ideas on what to include in a self care gift box keep reading. That said, you will likely not be able to put everything on this list in the box- unless it is a large one, but hopefully at least this list includes a few self care gifts you would like to include and gives you some ideas for brainstorming.

My Favorite Picks

1- A self care or wellness journal- this is an aspect of self care that many people don’t offen consider. I love journaling and have run several meditation and journaling classes and people always tell me they are helpful. I’m linking up the self care journal I created and put on Amazon but you can also find a bunch of others or you could even include a blank journal with a pretty cover and a pen and some suggestions for journaling questions.

2- A dry brush– Dry brushing is amazing for improving your circulation and the look and feel of your skin. Many spas offer it as a service, however you can get one for around $8 or sometimes even less.

3- Emotional essential oils– many people are already familiar with the benefits of essential oils for your physical challenges but they are even better for helping with emotional wellness. You can find ones that target a specific emotion such as forgiveness, peace, or happiness or more generic ones for different emotions.

4- A meditation app or device. Personally I own and use the Morphee. It is $100 though so it is more on the pricey side. I really love and and have found it quite helpful though. If that isn’t in your budget, you could include a list of common free meditation apps, or a gift card for a trial or 90 day Subscription to the paid versions of apps such as calm, headspace or insight timer.

5- Music- If you have a favorite on CD and you know the person has the ability to listen to CDS or to put them on their computer, that can work, or you can gift them access to a favorite song or two that you have found helpful in improving your mood and your life.

6- A massage gift certificate- If you are close to the person and feel comfortable, it could be with you, or you can get one from a massage school to save money, or from a professional if it is in your budget.

7- A kit to do your own pedicures and or manicures. These are quite popular and can save a lot of money compared with going to a salon or spa. I’m linking an amazon one about with the tools but you could also do hand or foot creams, or masks, or find someone who sells the product Color Street or something similar and get the acutal nail paints.

8-At home workout equipment- While you might think this is a crazy idea for a self care gift box, it isn’t as crazy as you think. No I’m not talking about including a bike, or treadmill. You can include things like a yoga mat, or hand or foot weights, or a board for balancing and doing exercise or even a jumprope could work.

9- Tickets to a class or event.- These are always appreciated. Ideas include a cooking class, ballet, opera, symphony, a play, knitting or crochet, or other crafts and more.

10- Dark Chocolate- Of course I had to include chocolate on the list. Personally I prefer dark and can’t really have milk due to a dairy intolerance but if the person can have dairy and prefers milk you can do that instead of dark chocolate.
