Choosing an aromatherapy diffuser can be a challenge, yet it is an important one in order to help kill the bacteria and viruses that are in the air. I have the second diffuser pictured above and I run it all night and sometimes during the day too. I use a variety of essential oils mixed with hot water. I like to rotate between lavender, wild orange and peppermint, eucalyptus and ylang ylang. I also use others on occasion based on my particular need at the time. That said, there are a lot of diffusers on the market. The first one pictured is a more expensive one that I don’t have and there are several others. Here are a couple of things to think about when purchasing an aromatherapy diffuser:
1. How long do you want to be able to run your diffuser without it stopping and needing to have more water and oils? Times vary according to the diffuser. The one I use as pictured runs for about 7 hours. I have another one that is not pictured that can run from 1 hour to 8 hours depending upon how often you schedule the water to spray into the air.
2. How much oil do you want to use at once? Both of the ones I own, use just a few drops in each batch of water. There are others that require you to attach a bottle of oil to the diffuser and these have a tendency to use a lot more oil and at a much quicker rate.
3. How much space do you have for storage? Not all diffusers take up the same amount of space.
4. What is your budget? Diffusers have a variety of costs. The one I own as pictured above costs $20 whereas I have another one that is $65 and the first one pictured costs $100. Price is not everything though as I actually prefer my $20 one over my $65 one.
