Introduction

Are you looking for some lazy Sunday dinner ideas? If so, you have come to the right place. You work hard all week and are likely spending a lot of time in the kitchen throughout the week, so you want some lazy Sunday dinner ideas you can make without spending a lot of time or money. Here are some great sunday dinners that I’ve made, my mom has made or that I’ve heard of for a great meal that doesn’t take that much work.

Lazy Sunday Dinner Ideas

  1. Crockpot Soups and stews– I’ve written some other blog posts on these, however, here are a few of my favorites. Chicken with potatoes, carrots, onions and cabbage, or swap the chicken for beef. Split pea and ham soup, lentil soup, white bean soup or chili. These are honestly my favorite of the recipes as you can just chop and or dump the ingredients into a crock pot or instant pot and cook all day and serve.
  2. Cereal- I know you may think I’m crazy but seriously cereal can make a great lazy Sunday dinner idea.  Make it extra special by serving something like rice chex or a boxed granola or any other cereal that you don’t serve very often.
  3. Pancakes or waffles– why not? If you use a mix that you have prepared or a gluten free pancake or waffle mix then it can be even easier.
  4. Eggs and vegetables- I eat these for dinner every once in a while even when it’s not Sunday. Use frozen already chopped vegetables to make it even easier.  A few of my favorite combinations include: broccoli and red onion, mushrooms and cauliflower, or spinach and onions and peppers.
  5. Baked potato pile ups- just put baked potatoes in the oven or microwave and then put out whatever toppings you like. You can do things like cheese, butter, broccoli, chili from a can to make it easier, olives, canned tuna or chicken for examples.
  6. Instead of baked potato pile ups- use rice- cook up the rice in a rice cooker and then pile on toppings.
  7. Chicken or fish stir fry. Use frozen already chopped vegetables and either a bag of frozen shrimp or canned chicken or other meat that you already cooked and chopped earlier in the week to make it easier and to save time.
