Did you know that essential oils can be used in salads? I know many people have never even thought about using them in this way, but not only can you use essential oils in salads but they are a great way to add flavor without the added calories and sugar of most salad dressings.

My favorite essential oils to use in salads are:

Lemon
Wild Orange
Cilantro
Black Pepper (expensive use with caution and in limited amount)
Ginger
Tangerine
Lime

You can either put 2-3 drops of your essential oil of choice on top of your salad and mix it up or you can add the drops of essential oil to some olive oil, sunflower oil, or other salad oil and then pour it on your salad. I’ve done it both ways and both ways work and add flavor. I find it is best to add the dressing before you put in tuna, tomatoes, carrots, chicken, hummus or any other ingredients. Then you can mix everything together.

Comment below if you’ve ever tried essential oils with your salad.
