Introduction

The best essential oil diffusers for everyday home use- which ones are they? Why do I use a variety of essential oil diffusers and which ones are the best essential oil diffusers for everyday home use? I’ve written a few other blog posts about essential oil diffusers and why they are beneficial so I’m not going to repeat myself here, rather you can read those posts for the why, in this post, we will talk about the what.

Different Kinds of Diffusers

There are basically 3 different kinds of essential oil diffusers. In addition you can find things like reed diffusers where you just stick some reeds in some water with essential oils but these are really more of a novelty and not an actual diffuser that will diffuse the oil throughout an entire room.

The first, are diffusers where you put water and usually between 5-15 drops of essential oil in the diffuser and turn it on and let the essential oil fill a room. There are lots of different sizes and ones that have timers for different hours and ones that have just one setting. I recommend using smaller ones for smaller rooms such as a bathroom or bedroom, and larger ones for bigger rooms.

The second, are diffusers where you plug a bottle of essential oil directly into the diffuser and get a stronger smell and it diffuses more oil throughout the room. These are best for large rooms or areas that have a tendency to get a lot stinkier or smellier.

The third, are diffusers that are portable and run off of either a battery or a USB and can easily be used for travel since you don’t need to plug them in. They are naturally smaller but can still work well in smaller spaces or right by your desk while working.

In the picture above, I am showing one example of all three kinds of these diffusers.

The bubble diffuser in the picture above, I use in my bathroom or when traveling. The smell can be really strong and it can use up a lot of oil, so I generally only use less expensive oils or ones that I don’t use very often for other reasons and I want to use them up. That one isn’t currently available.

The Pilot diffuser is the taller black one- I use that one by my desk but it’s not currently available.

You can also consider a diffuser that is combined with a humidifier. I’ve used these in the past before. Here is the one that is currently available.

The pebble diffuser black one is the one I use in my bedroom at night while I’m sleeping or during the day on weekends while I’m in my room. It’s the one I have running now while I’m writing this blog post.

There are other diffusers I’ve used in the past but quit using because they either didn’t work as effectively or they broke and I didn’t think they were worth replacing.

In short find the diffuser or diffusers that work for you and use those. These are just suggestions of which ones have worked for me.
