Introduction

Knee relief is something I was constantly searching for over the course of 2 years as I experienced chronic knee pain that fortunately is no longer going on thanks at least in part to going to Mexico for stem cells. It all started when I ended up in the ER in January of 2022 because I had such chronic knee pain I couldn’t even walk. Originally it was thought I might have a blood clot hence the main reason I went to the ER rather than waiting at urgent care. Fortunately I didn’t but the pain was still so bad, I ended up at the orthopedic doctor’s office and ultimately ended up having to do knee surgery, followed up with plasma injections and then stem cells. All of this to say that I now no longer have chronic knee pain and even any knee pain at all happens a lot less than it used to. So here are the three things I’ve learned from chronic knee pain and how to actually get knee relief.

  1. There are a lot of things you can do to get relief from chronic knee pain, however, heat and ice are two of the best methods to get knee relief. If you have chronic knee pain though, you need to also be working with an orthopedic doctor to find out what is going on and make sure you don’t have anything severe going on. I personally have found using an infrared knee wrap and ice packs on my knees to be two of the best strategies. I now use the ice packs I got for use after my surgery but you can really use any ice packs you can find. It is best to rotate using them and to use each one for about 30 minutes on each knee at any one time and for about 1-2 times per day that you are experiencing chronic knee pain.
  2. Movement, exercise and stretching is a must for good knee health and for knee relief from chronic pain. Your knees need to be moved and stretched multiple times per day in order to avoid serious problems. I focus on standing up and moving around and stretching every hour for about 5 minutes. I also stretch and exercise with a focus on my knees for at least 20 minutes in the morning. This makes a big difference in my knee pain levels.
  3. What you eat and drink can affect your knee pain. This isn’t something many people are aware of, nor is it even something most doctors will tell you or talk about. However, I’m specifically noticed a direct connection between eating sugar and knee pain. Yes really. If you have a lot of knee pain and you are eating sugar, you should give it up and any other processed foods and sodas and see if it helps. There are also supplements like calcium, vitamin D, zinc, magnesium and turmeric that can help as well.
