Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies are important for a good quality of life. However, many of us know what we need to do but actually doing it is a different matter entirely. Healthy Bodies
- Move for at least 15 minutes within an hour of getting out of bed. I find that regular daily movement and making sure that I move in the morning as well, makes me feel a lot better and have a lot more energy.
- Go to bed and wake up at approximately the same time every day. Make sure to also get at least 7 hours of good quality sleep.
- Eat an anti-inflammatory diet with healthy whole non-processed foods 95 % of the time. Avoid sugar as much as possible.
- Do everything you can to get and maintain a healthy weight.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine. I know this is controversial but not only are these addictive but they also are really not good for you, and they are even worse if you have any kind of autoimmune condition.
- Go swimming at least once a week. I have a goal to swim at least three times per week and I know that I feel a lot better when I do this.
- Use an infrared sauna or infrared lights at least a few times per week. This has been life changing for my wellbeing and for helping me to reduce my autoimmune challenges.
- Take the right supplements- not just any though, you must take only those you need and make sure they are high quality. A few that most people with autoimmune challenges are in need of include: a probiotic, vitamin D, zinc and magnesium. If you aren’t sure get tested by a functional medicine doctor.
- Get your annual physicals and medical checks. Many people are tempted to skip these but they are a must to make sure you have good health for your lifetime.
- Collagen- I’ve become an extra big fan of this since having my knee surgery and my knee problems.
- Intermittent fasting- this is how I lost 30 lbs in less than a year and it has helped me with reducing a lot of cravings.
