Introduction:
Period pain hacks are always helpful since any woman who has ever experienced a period has likely at some point experienced pain to varying degrees. In fact, if you haven’t been through really excruciating pain with your period at least a few times, you can count yourself as lucky. Unfortunately for me, I’ve had a lot of period pain issues, so I’ve become quite the expert at period pain hacks. I’ve tried a lot of them over the years. Here are what I consider to be the best.
Period Pain Hacks for when you think you’ve tried it all.
- Get acupuncture the day of. Yes, acupuncture can really help with period pain.
- A hot water bottle. This one may seem really simple, but it really can work quite well.
- Infrared heat or infrared lights. This is probably my favorite method. I have a few different devices I use but overall this really works better than most other methods.
- Underwear with a heating pad inside. This is really my favorite for when you can’t stay home and you need to be out and about so carrying other heating devices really isn’t practical.
- Pain creams- there are lots of them out there but I’ve found that one that either contains CBD or arnica to work the best.
- Turmeric- this won’t completely work but taking a turmeric supplement can help reduce inflammation and when you are on your period, you have inflammation.
- Magnesium supplements- yes really. This can help as it helps to reduce cramping and muscle issues.
- Magnets– I know it sounds weird but magnets really can reduce pain. I have some that I can put in my underwear or on other parts of my body to help with the pain.
- A weighted blanket. This works really well for sleeping at night or taking a nap during your period.
- An infrared sauna– this is just one of the many perks of having one in your house. I bought a portable one that I have in my bedroom and it’s honestly the best purchase I’ve made in a long time.
- A heating pack that you can throw in the microwave for a few minutes and then get up to 30 minutes of heat. I kept one of these in my desk drawer at work, when I worked in an office. (Thank goodness I now work from home all the time.)
- A portable massager- this can work wonders as well since a lot of time period pain comes from not being able to get your blood flow moving.
There you go 12 period pain hacks that I have found to give me at least some relief from a girl who gets a lot of pain and has tried everything.
