Introduction
A 7-day reset to calm your body can be very helpful for when you need to calm down, reduce stress, and help with your nervous system. It can also be the very thing you need to heal your autoimmune condition. However, it can be challenging to figure out how to do this 7 day reset to calm your body. Keep reading while I share with you how to do this.
Before you get started
Take an inventory of your schedule, your budget and your available time and resources. Ask yourself the following questions:
How much time per day do I have and want to devote to resetting and calming my body?
What are some practices I would like to include?
What changes do I need to make to my schedule for the week in order to be successful?
What is my goal for the week? What am I looking to accomplish?
What help do I need to succeed? Either from people or from other resources?
I recommend you choose a week when you have less going on, when you aren’t traveling, and ideally when you can take time off of work. This will allow you to have less stress and to focus more than if you are doing the reset while you still have to work or take care of other responsibilities.
Day 1
Journal about your goals, wants and needs. Write whatever comes to mind without judgement.
Do at least a 10 minute meditation day and night.
If you have the time and money, schedule a massage, and or other spa treatment.
Do at least 30 minutes of stretching or gentle exercise.
Day 2
Repeat Day 1 but make any necessary changes or adjustments.
Day 3
Repeat Day 1 but see if you can expand your meditation to at least 20 minutes day and night.
Day 4
Expand your meditation to 30 minutes. Look up exercise routines to calm the nervous system and try at least one.
Day 5
Spend at least 1 hour outside ideally in the shade of a tree and barefoot for grounding. Do another nervous system calming exercise.
Day 6
Repeat the other days but spend more time on each thing if possible.
Day 7
Get another massage or spa treatment if possible. Consider spending time in a salt cave if possible and do some red light therapy or use an infrared sauna.
Take inventory of how things went and what you would change next time. How are you feeling?
If possible, I recommend doing a calming routine like this at least once a quarter- 4 times per year.
