Introduction
Shrimp gluten free recipes can make a great dinner or entree for a dinner party. I really enjoy shrimp and while shrimp is naturally gluten free not all shrimp recipes that you could make are gluten free. Here are some shrimp gluten free recipes that I really enjoy cooking and eating.
- Grilled Shrimp Skewers- This is a great idea for a barbeque.
- Ingredients:
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Olive oil
- Garlic, minced
- Lemon juice
- Salt and pepper
- Skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before grilling)
- Instructions:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Thread the shrimp onto the skewers.
- Brush the shrimp with the olive oil mixture.
- Grill the shrimp skewers for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve hot with additional lemon wedges.
- Ingredients:
- Shrimp Stir-Fry- This is another favorite that I like to make at least a few times per month.
- Ingredients:
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Mixed vegetables (such as bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas, carrots) or I also like using cabbage or broccoli and red onions.
- Gluten-free soy sauce or tamari- I also like to use coconut animos.
- Garlic, minced
- Ginger, minced
- Sesame oil
- Olive oil
- Rice or rice noodles or quinoa.

- Instructions:
- Cook rice or rice noodles according to package instructions.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and ginger, stir-fry for 30 seconds.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry until they are tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add gluten-free soy sauce or tamari and a drizzle of sesame oil to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
- Serve the shrimp stir-fry over cooked rice or rice noodles.
- Instructions:
- Coconut Shrimp Curry:
- Ingredients:
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Coconut milk
- Red curry paste (make sure it’s gluten-free although most of these are, you want to read the label to check.)
- Onion, diced
- Bell pepper, sliced
- Garlic, minced
- Ginger, minced
- Fish sauce (check for gluten-free label)
- Lime juice
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Cooked rice or cauliflower rice (you can buy frozen cauliflower rice at Walmart)
- Instructions:
- In a large skillet or pot, heat some oil over medium heat.
- Add diced onion, sliced bell pepper, minced garlic, and minced ginger to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in red curry paste and cook for another minute.
- Pour in coconut milk and bring to a simmer.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Season the curry with fish sauce and lime juice to taste.
- Serve the coconut shrimp curry over cooked rice or cauliflower rice, garnished with chopped cilantro.
- These are my favorite gluten free shrimp recipes but you can also make others such as shrimp with salsa and rice, or shrimp added to your favorite salad recipe.
