Have you ever considered how to make extra money with teaching and tutoring? In this post, I’m going to tell you all about how to do this. This is the first post in a series, I’m going to write about various ways to make extra money working from home. I hope you will read them all and get busy implementing so you can earn extra money while being there for your children or creating time and financial freedom.

There are two main ways to make extra money with teaching and tutoring.

First, you can sell your own tutoring services and teach students either in your own home, at their homes, or via Skype or Zoom or any other online platform.

Second, you can partner up with a company who does it all for you and then pays you a wage based on the number of hours you teach or tutor, or the number of students.

Both ways can work however, here are a few things to think about before getting started making extra money with teaching and tutoring. If you do it completely on your own, then it will be like having your own business and will require a lot more work. You also will need to do all of your own marketing and it will be up to you to find students. If however, you partner up with a company, then they will find the students for you, pay you less than you could earn on your own, and it’s more like a work from home job.

If you want to find a company to work with here are some of the top companies.

1. Rype– This company offers ESL, French, Spanish, German and other languages tutoring as well as math tutoring. All the tutoring is done via Skype. I tutor French with them and have really enjoyed it. If you want more info on being a tutor with Rype contact me and I can help you get started.

2. Vipkid- you’ve probably seen facebook ads for them. You tutor English to children in China. For this one you must have a bachelor’s degree and they are quite picky, but it’s an option to consider. The prime tutoring hours are also usually very early morning/middle of the night for Americans.

3. Upwork– This is a freelance site where you can find people who have posted they are looking for tutoring and teaching.

4. Wyzant This site offers both in person tutoring and online lessons. I’ve tutored with them before too and it was a positive experience.

5. The other way that can really work for you is to find colleges- usually 2 year colleges work best, and see what openings they have for teachers for their online courses. This only works usually if you have at least a bachelors and often a masters degree. So if you are well educated and have a background in Math, English and most Sciences, this can work really well for you.

Did this help you? If so, I would greatly appreciate a comment and a share on Facebook, twitter, linkedin, or pinterest.
