What Everyone Ought to Know about Essential Oils

What do you know about essential oils? If you are like most people you have heard of them before and maybe you tried a cheap bottle of peppermint or lavender that you bought at a health food store once, but other than that you really don’t know a whole lot about them.

So what should you know about essential oils? There is a lot to learn and I’m still learning and still will be for years. However, here are some basic facts about essential oils that everyone ought to know.

1. They are 28-30 times more powerful and potent than herbs.
2. You can take them in unlimited quantities with no harmful side effects.
3. They can kill both bacteria and viruses.
4. They can be used to help with a wide variety of health conditions.
5. The method used to extract them, how the plant or tree is grown, the area in the world where the plant is grown, the time of day and other factors all have an impact on the potency and effectiveness of the oils.
6. There is no standard in the U.S. for measuring the quality and purity of oils and so a bottle can say that it is 100% pure and yet it may not actually be pure.
