A Network Marketing Business or a Party Plan Business?

When searching for a home business, you will no doubt come across network marketing and party plan businesses. However, how do you decide whether or not you want to get involved with network marketing or a party plan business. It can be difficult to decide which one to choose and since there are many similarities it can complicate your decision even further. Here are some things to consider:

1. If you join a network marketing company can you do parties with your product line? Even if they are not a party plan, it helps if your products can be used to hold parties since parties are a very effective method of building a business and many people are attracted by the idea of being able to do parties.

2. If you join a party plan business how many parties will you be required to do per month? Can you skip a month and still earn your commissions? If not, you may want to think twice about joining that company since you may get sick or have something happen and you may not be able to do parties for a while. What will you do if this happens?

3. Network Marketing companies usually require a monthly autoship, where as in party plan companies you usually buy a kit for a certain amount and sometimes you can even earn your kit with parties, and then you have to sell a given amount of product every 3 or 4 months. While selling the product might seem better instead of an autoship, it can end up being more of a pain since you have to sell that amount even if you are a sick, have a death in the family or you go on vacation.

4. Do you really love to party? If not, then you really should think twice about joining a party plan business. There are so many network marketing businesses nowadays that it should be easy to find one that is a fit for you. However, if you really love parties then a party plan business may end up being a better fit.

5. Do you really enjoy retailing and do you want to earn most of your income from selling a product? Even though both business models offer residual income through team building most network marketing models offer better compensation for team building and less profit from retailing although there are some that differ from this.

In short, both business models work and are successful, you just need to find the one that is the right fit for you.
