<p>An important part of creating a strong online brand is also creating your own tribe. If you are not familiar with the concept of a tribe, you need to read Seth Godin’s book, “Tribes.”  In any case, a tribe is basically a group of people who know you, like you and support you and who will either join you in your business, buy your products or services or help you promote your content and offers.  In other words those who are members of your tribe are your advocates or those who support you.</p>
<p>However it can be challenging to effectively create your own tribe. Here are ten ways that you can make this happen without breaking your back or having a heart attack trying to do it.</p>
<p>1.	Be very clear about who your target market is and about the qualities and characteristics you want the members of your tribe to have. How can you create your tribe if you have no idea who you want to be in it?</p>
<p>2.	Find out where these people hang out both online and offline and then start hanging out there yourself.  Get to know these people and develop relationships. </p>
<p>3.	Create magnetic content that will attract the people you want to join your tribe. Figure out what questions, problems and concerns they have and create articles, videos, blog posts and audios that address these and that are viewed as helpful for these people.</p>
<p>4.	Make it easy for those who read your content to spread it virally. This includes adding a tweet this and a facebook share button on your <a href="http://annalaurabrown.com/index.php" style=""  rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://annalaurabrown.com/index.php';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">blog</a> posts, as well as including your link with each piece of content so that people can learn more.</p>
<p>5.	Make sure that your marketing funnel is set up correctly. If you are not capturing leads, giving them value consistently, following up, selling them products and marketing to them regularly then your marketing funnel is broken.</p>
<p>6.	Make it clear to people who you are looking to connect with. You cannot connect with everyone so avoid even trying.  It also helps people who would like to help you if they know with precision who your target market is.</p>
<p>7.	Be real and authentic. People can smell fake from a mile away. You need to really be you and not try to be someone else.</p>
<p>8.	Be reciprocal and share the content of others that you find valuable and also of those who are in your target market and who represent those you would like to join your tribe. People will be even more likely to help share your content if you share<br />
theirs.</p>
<p>9.	Create clear call to actions. Invite people to take various actions including joining your tribe. You need to decide what they means for you as well. It could be liking your fan page, joining you on Google friend connect, or something else that you decide.</p>
<p>10.	Be patient and know that with time you will build a tribe so large that you will be amazed. Continue to act with integrity and to do what you need to do to build the type of business and tribe that you want.</p>

<p>Automated MLM systems that supposedly build your business for you, are all the rage right now. Many people sell you on the idea that you can purchase a plug in play system and then sit back and relax and watch the money roll in. However, while online MLM systems do get some results, they do not and will not ever build your business like your own website or blog. Here are seven reasons why:</p>
<p>1.	It’s not unique.</p>
<p>Automated online MLM systems are not unique. In fact, they are in most cases an exact or almost exact copy of each other.  While they may be well designed, websites that are copies of each other and where hundreds if not thousands of people use the same one or almost the same one do not work like websites that are unique.</p>
<p>2.	Too many people are using them. </p>
<p>The more people who use the same website, the less that site will work. Many people will see many of these sites online and will become bored or immune to what they see.</p>
<p>3.	SEO is nearly impossible.</p>
<p>Online MLM system based websites do not rank in the search engines because not only are they nearly all the same, but you cannot optimize them with keywords, descriptions, links and other aspects that are crucial to SEO.</p>
<p>4.	They are costly to use.</p>
<p>Even though many of them offer affiliate programs, when you analyze the cost you will find that many of them are a lot more money than a basic website or <a href="http://annalaurabrown.com/index.php" style=""  rel="nofollow" onmouseover="self.status='http://annalaurabrown.com/index.php';return true;" onmouseout="self.status=''">blog</a>, which in many cases will work less.  When marketing online, one of the keys to success is to avoid spending more money on websites and tools than is absolutely necessary.</p>
<p>5.	They offer limited personalization.</p>
<p>While I touched on this under they are not unique, the biggest issue is that not being able to include the information you want is a major drawback to online MLM systems.  The very best website is one that you can completely personalize and make it yours.</p>
<p>6.	You get better results with your own blog.</p>
<p>WordPress blogs offer the ultimate in SEO, personalization and updated content. Plus they are a lot less expensive.  There really is no reason why you should spend the extra money when wordpress will work just as well.</p>
<p>7.	There is a lack of flexibility with them.</p>
<p>This is similar to number five. Not only are they not personalized but you really cannot for the most part change what is on them.  Even those that do offer some personalization, generally do not allow you to make changes whenever you want. </p>

<p>Bob Burg and John David Mann just released their new book, “Go-Givers Sell More”. This excellent book is the sequel to their first book, “The Go Giver.”  While this book is not specific to network marketers, I highly recommend that ever network marketer as well as any business owner gets and reads a copy of this book.  However, it is of course not good enough to just read the book, you need to also take action on what you learn. </p>
<p>Here are some ideas about how you can be a Go Giver and sell more with your network marketing business.</p>
<p>1.	Master the art of appreciation.  Do you really let people that you speak with, your customers and your team members know how much you appreciate them?  Find little ways of doing this such as offering something extra, giving away free or discounted products from time to time, offering extra services and more.</p>
<p>2.	Build networks and then share your networks with others. Give referrals freely and work to help others build their network.  </p>
<p>3.	Always be finding ways to give and offer more value to others than they expect. Give them value even if they do not join you or buy your product and they will remember you and in many cases, come back to you later.</p>
<p>4.	Give, give, give and then give some more.  Give even when it is not expected as well as when it is expected.</p>
<p>5.	Share your stories, wisdom and experience with others and they will share theirs with you. Then use these stories to build relationships and to continue to strengthen your rapport with others.</p>

<p>ILearningGlobal.Tv a self development company that was marketing their services via network marketing just announced that they are getting rid of their network marketing business model and terminating all of their distributors.  While this is tragic, unfortunately I do not think it is much of a surprise.  There are many reasons for this, but here are just a few of them.</p>
<p>Their product which was really a service was based on subscription access to videos.  Well let’s think about this for a minute.  How many free video libraries are available online? Tons.  In fact, youtube which has the largest quantity is the number three website online right now.  So how many people are willing to pay $99 a month, which was the price they were charging to access online educational videos that they can probably find for free? Not many. Furthermore, if you couldn’t find certain videos online for free that you wanted that were in the ILearningGlobal collection you could probably find many if not all of them on DVD somewhere and over time it would be less expensive to just purchase the DVDS.  </p>
<p>In short, they had built their company around a product that became out paced by technology and which did not really work well with the network marketing business model.</p>
<p>When choosing a network marketing company you want to do everything you can to avoid this. The reality is though that there are other companies out there who will most likely face the same problem in the future.  They are marketing products or services which change so quickly with technology that it is nearly impossible to keep up with them or which may even eventually become free and then no one will want to pay for them.</p>
<p>Here are some questions to ask yourself when choosing a network marketing business to avoid having the company go out of business and leaving you in the cold:</p>
<p>1.	Are the products truly unique and will they still be used in the next 20 years?</p>
<p>2.	If the products or services are based on technology, is there anything similar to it that is being developed or that already exists that may eventually be better and therefore, cause the company to have to make drastic changes in order to stay in business?</p>
<p>3.	Is the company always thinking ahead of innovations and staying with them if not ahead of them?</p>
<p>4.	Are the products or services really needed and will they continue to be?</p>
<p>In short, while you can never be absolutely certain that a given network marketing company will not just shut down and leave you scrambling to find something else, if you are wise about your choice, you can decrease the likelihood of this happening.</p>

Do you have a lizard brain? The reality is that everyone has one although people who are very successful have learned to silence theirs.  If you have read Seth Godin’s new book, Linchpin then you will have a really good idea of what I am talking about when I say lizard brain. In any case, the lizard brain is the part of your brain, your belief and your attitude that lets fear get in the way.  It’s the part of you that procrastinates or that avoids doing something you know you need to do because well it’s just easier not to do it.  The lizard in you is also the part of you that shows up at the last moment right when you are ready to experience a breakthrough or something really great in your business. It’s your internal resistance that says: I can’t or I’ll try or I’m afraid. </p>
<p>So what can you do if you feel like your lizard brain is getting in the way of your network marketing success?</p>
<p>1.	Read or listen to a powerful motivational book or audio and start thinking about all of the reasons why you really need to go ahead and do what you know you need to do.</p>
<p>2.	Yell out loud, enough and tell the lizard brain to get out of the way and then do it anyway.</p>
<p>3.	Make a list of all of the benefits and what you know you will get if you go ahead and act anyway.</p>
<p>4.	Practice makes perfect so keep doing it and doing it and you will improve over time and the fear will go away.</p>

An important part of success when using networking to build your business is to make sure that others remember you.  So how do you do this effectively? Here are seven ways that you can make this happen.</p>
<p>1.	Use a thirty or sixty second commercial that is memorable, and that stands out. Tell your audience why you are unique and be clear about what you can do for them. Too many business owners blow it with their introduction or commercial. They are either not clear about why someone should do business with them or they sound too much like everyone else.</p>
<p>2.	Wear a name badge. This simple little thing can make a big difference.  Name badges stand out on your shirt, coat or jacket and not only can people see visually your name but it provides a visual that people will remember.</p>
<p>3.	Take the time to introduce yourself to people one by one. Make appointments with people to speak with them one on one at a later date. Engage in friendly conversation and ask them questions as well about themselves.</p>
<p>4.	Even if there are hundreds or thousands of people who do exactly what you do or something similar come up with a unique twist or way of explaining what you do that will stand out in people’s minds.</p>
<p>5.	Put your picture on your business cards. Too many people do not do this. This is one simple step that can be huge. When you do this, people will see your face on your card and connect it with you and it makes it easier for them to remember who you are.</p>
<p>6.	Give people a sample of your product or something else with your information on it besides a card, poster or flyer. People have tons of these lying around and so the more unique your item the more memorable you will be.</p>
<p>7.	Keep your conversations focused on how you can help them instead of on what you can get from them.  Find other ways to serve and be of assistance other than to buy something from them or to do direct business with them.</p>

One of the keys to success in business and in life is to build a powerful network.  The poor look for work while the rich build networks.  However, it can be more difficult to build a powerful network than it may seem.  Many people go to networking events for a time and then complain that they do not work.  Here are five steps you can take to build a powerful network that works for you.</p>
<p>1.	Identify who are the ideal people that you need in your network.  You can start by indicating the personality qualities as well as the professions and other important aspects of these people.  Write these down and determine anything else that these people need to have in order to be considered a part of the core of your network.</p>
<p>2.	Set goals for your powerful network. What will it do for you? Will it make it so that if you ever lost your job, you would be able to find a new one really quickly? Will it bring you new business for your own business on a regular basis? Will it allow you to give back to others? </p>
<p>3.	Add to your network every week.  Set a goal for a number of new people that you need to meet and connect with each week.  Always be adding to your network.  Determine where there are any gaps or holes and develop a plan for meeting new people who can fill in these gaps.</p>
<p>4.	Stay in contact with your network. Use cards, email, the phone, in person meetings and any other method you can come up with to keep your warm contacts warm.  Strive to offer value to as many of them as possible and to be memorable.</p>
<p>5.	Don’t be afraid to ask for referrals but make sure that you give as many referrals to others as possible. Your relationship must be mutual and you must also give in order to receive.</p>

<p>Have you been watching the new TV show, “Shark Tank?” If so there are a lot of valuable business lessons to be learned from it. If not, I highly recommend it. Here are some lessons I have learned:</p>
<p>1. Never say no to the chance to gain valuable knowledge and partnerships which can benefit your business. I never cease to be amazed at all the people who say no to the sharks who are offering to help them because they are greedy or selfish.</p>
<p>2. Accept that there are people who know more than you do. Too often the potential entrepreneurs have a hard time accepting that the sharks know things that they do not.</p>
<p>3. Be willing to give up some of your money and power in the short term in order to experience long-term success. Too many of those who are seeking  financial help, are unwilling to give up a larger portion of their earnings in order to get the help they need. </p>
<p>4. Learn how to negotiate. Both the sharks and many of the entrepreneurs are excellent at this. Know when you need to do this and when to back off.</p>
<p>5. Know when you see a good deal and when you need to stay clear. Just because you might be able to make money at something does not mean you should pursue it.</p>
<p>6. Know when to quit. Some of the entrepreneurs who come in to talk with the sharks should really not be there in the first place. There is no substantial proof that their ideas are worth the time and money it will take to make them profitable. </p>

<p>Do you have a MLM business hook? </p>
<p>The reality is that most <a href="http://www.internetworkmarketingwealth.com">MLM business</a> owners do not. So what exactly is a hook? A hook is something that you use to capture the attention of your audience to make them want to learn more. It can also be referred to as a USP or unique selling position or an elevator pitch.  In other words, a hook is a short phrase or two that grabs the attention of whoever you are sharing it with, and makes them want to listen to you and to learn more.</p>
<p>Your MLM business hook should be obvious to you, to anyone who visits your website and to anyone who engages in conversation with you about your business.</p>
<p>Here are some questions to ask yourself to help create your hook:</p>
<p>1. What is something that everyone who asks about your business would be interested in knowing?</p>
<p>2.  What is something unique about my products or opportunity?</p>
<p>3. How can I phrase what I offer in one or two sentences so that I will grab the interest of anyone who may be looking for a home business?</p>
<p>4. How can I avoid jargon and hype and make it crystal clear to my target market what I am offering?</p>
<p>5. How can I engage my listener and make him or her want to learn more?</p>
