Are you majoring in minor things?

I have had the pleasure of hearing Michael Clouse speak twice now at live events sponsored by my network marketing company. This second time just a few weeks ago, one of the things he said, really had an impact on me. He said, “Are you majoring in minor things?” and then he gave us some ideas about how to change this. By majoring in minor things he means that too many people spend too much time working on things that do not count and that will not make them much or any money long-term.

Some examples of this include:

Spending too much time with email.
Talking on the phone with prospects or team members for longer than necessary to get business done and to build relationships.
Spending hours on end on social networking sites.
Redoing business cards, brochures and flyers
Talking with people who have no interest or ability to join you.

What others can you add to this list?
